Hybrid mini-conference March 8th 2025

The Competition Season Essentials Pop-Up Conference is coming to Arcada, Helsinki, with online streaming available for remote attendees.

Classes and Speakers

Hanna Ropo, a physiotherapist and mental performance coach, combines expertise from sports and business to promote holistic wellbeing. With a background in elite gymnastics and coaching, she understands the balance between ambitious goals and self-care. At Hintsa Performance, she helps athletes and leaders optimize performance through practical, empathetic strategies. In this event, Hanna will share insights on managing mental load, recovery, and daily habits to support coaches' wellbeing amidst high-performance demands. Her talk offers tools to enhance resilience, effectiveness, and sustainability in professional life.

Wellbeing and resilience

Markus Arvaja, Senior Lecturer at Haaga-Helia, specializes in ice hockey coaching and sports psychology. A certified consultant and board member of the Finnish Sport Psychology Association, he has coached Finland's Women’s Ice Hockey Team at two Olympics and works with various professional athletes across sports. Markus’ talk focuses on fostering team success when it matters most.

Team success and collaboration

Tuuve Häkkinen, a 9-year Women’s National Team athlete and 10-season HAC Elite player, has captained both teams for 5 years. With 4 World, 4 European, and 7 Finnish Championship golds, her career includes both triumphs and challenges. Tuuve’s analytical nature and teamwork insights shape her approach to building successful teams. Her class focuses on boosting athletes’ confidence and sharing key lessons from her journey.

There are no hotels close to Arcada, but hotels in downtown Helsinki near the railway station are the best solution.
